Erykah Badu will host this year’s Soul Train Awards, which will air on Centric and BET Nov. 29, and we’re hoping Ms. Badu will perform her hot remix of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” during the event.
Centric Network announced that it will honor Jill Scott and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds at this year’s show. Edmonds will receive the Legend Award, and Scott will accept the first-ever Lady of Soul Award.
As The Wrap notes, Edmonds has won 11 Grammy Awards and written and produced 26 No. 1 R&B hits. His new album, “Return of the Tender Lover,” will be released on December 4.
Scott is a three-time Grammy winner, critically acclaimed actress and New York Times best-selling poet.
According to Centric, “both artists are being recognized for their presence in the industry and their influence on the world of music – past and present.”
